TECHNICAL WATER TREATMENT

Sludge, algae, limescale, scale buildup, and air pockets in the HVAC system are the main causes of cold radiators, boiler noise, and reduced efficiency, all of which can lead to up to 30% more fuel waste. Wasting less energy means immediately reducing heating costs, improving living conditions inside your home, protecting the environment and the air we breathe, as well as complying with current regulations and laws.

Why treating water?

Unprocessed water contains scaling salts, dissolved gases, and impurities that cause serious problems in heating systems: scale formation (which acts as a thermal insulator), corrosion (damage to metals), accumulation of sludge and magnetite, proliferation of bacteria and algae (especially at low temperatures), and the risk of freezing. Furthermore, the heat transfer fluid tends to degrade over time, losing its protective properties.

Energy Efficiency

Maintaining optimal heat exchange reduces fuel consumption.

Cost Savings

Lower utility bills and a significant reduction in extraordinary maintenance costs.

Less Breakdowns

Prevents heat exchanger failures, clogged pumps, and stuck valves.

Compliance with Regulations

Compliance with legal obligations to avoid penalties.

T.E.M.I.T LINE

Heating System treatment and Maintenance

Cleaning and Sanitization

Cleaning is mandatory for new systems (to remove processing residues) and for retrofits (to remove sludge).

We use DISIFLUX external pumps and specific high-circulation sanitizing agents.

Chemical Conditioning

After washing, the water must be protected with film-forming corrosion inhibitors that passivate metals and stabilize the pH.

Long-lasting products compliant with regulations.

Antifreeze and Fluids

For outdoor systems (heat pumps) or solar systems, the use of inhibited glycol is essential to prevent freezing and corrosion.

Non-toxic glycols that are resistant to high temperatures.

Facot Chemicals’ TEMIT line offers a complete range of essential products for maintaining all types of technical systems, enabling users to perform all the operations necessary for proper maintenance.

Antifreeze - Heat Transfer Fluids

Antifreeze protection and heat transfer fluids for solar, geothermal, and industrial systems.

Parameter Why it is important
pH It expresses the current degree of acidity or basicity (alkalinity) of a solution on a scale ranging from 0 to 14. pH is one of the basic parameters for assessing the corrosiveness of water; it is also a factor of extreme importance in the development and extent of scaling, corrosion, and microbial growth.
Electrical Conductivity Indicates the amount of dissolved salts. High values accelerate electrochemical corrosion processes.
Total Hardness (°F) It represents the total amount of calcium and magnesium salts dissolved in the water. It is expressed in ppm or mg/L as CaCO3, or in French degrees (1°f = 10 ppm or mg/L of CaCO3). The presence of hardness causes scaling in systems where no treatment is used.
Iron / Copper / Aluminum The presence of these metals in the water indicates active corrosion in the pipes or heat exchangers.
Chlorides If present in excess, they cause pitting corrosion, which is devastating to stainless steel and copper.
Bacterial Count Detects the presence of algae or bacteria that form biofilms, reducing heat transfer and clogging the circuits.
Glycol / Antifreeze It is essential to periodically check the antifreeze protection and its alkaline reserve in order to prevent degradation associated with the latter, which can lead to sludge formation and severe corrosion of metal components due to the acidification of the glycol.
