| Total Hardness (°F) | It represents the total amount of calcium and magnesium salts dissolved in the water. It is expressed in ppm or mg/L as CaCO3, or in French degrees (1°f = 10 ppm or mg/L of CaCO3). The presence of hardness causes scaling in systems where no treatment is used. |
