Portable digital instrument for detecting some basic potability parameters of water. Electrical conductivity in microSiemens, total dissolved solids in mg/lt, temperature in °C. Fixed residue expressed as the amount of dissolved solids is an indicator for both drinking water and industrial and agricultural uses. Water with a high concentration of dissolved solids, (greater than 1,000 mg/lt) may have poor organoleptic characteristics.
Calibrate the probe with the special solution provided, and after a few seconds dip into the water to be tested. Water classification: minimally mineralized up to 50 mg/lt. Oligomineral or slightly mineralized up to 500 mg/lt. Rich in salts over 1,500 mg/lt. Values are parameterized by Legislative Decree 31/2001 (max value 1,550 mg/lt). Above these values the waters are also not recommended for agricultural use or animal drinking troughs.
