Thermally stabilized synthetic fiber tape impregnated with a special non-hardening mastic. The function of the tape is to seal threaded hydraulic fittings of any diameter and material, both with common gas and with drinking and heating water. In fact, it does not alter either the odor or the taste and purity of water. SST is a dynamic sealant in that it adapts to all threads and materials. Suitable on tapered and parallel threads. It is clean and hands-free, economical and quick and easy to apply. It allows repositioning of fittings and disassembly years later. It withstands vibrations typical of couplings, in the vicinity of pumps. SST complies with the technical specifications according to UNI EN 751/2 Cl. ARp, and is WRAS certified according to BS 6920 and DVGW.
Apply normally as an ordinary sealing tape to the thread, placing the green part of the tape in contact and exerting slight tension and preferably starting at the end of the thread in the direction of the thread and returning outward covering the entire thread. In most cases it is not necessary to roughen or dent the thread, except on particularly smooth materials such as brass or chrome-plated fittings. In any case, use according to experience. Tears off by simply pulling it without the need to cut it. It allows repositioning of the fitting. Once the fitting has been loosened within certain limits it can be tightened again. Do not exceed in quantity as some of the tape may be ejected (demonstration film available on YouTube).
