It combines hydrocyclonic action with magnetic action to ensure maximum effectiveness in collecting and sequestering impurities and ferromagnetic particles. The incoming fluid encounters a baffle that imposes a spiral motion within the cylindrically shaped central body: at this stage, the particles heavier than water are pushed by centrifugal force against the walls of the defuser, and slow down by friction. The impurities then leave the turbulence zone and easily descend into the special collection sump: once deposited, they can no longer re-enter the circulation due to the low fluid velocities in the zone not affected by the cyclonic effect.
Magnetic action is provided by the presence of the powerful N52 Neodymium magnet located near the sump. The magnet is inserted inside a removable sleeve so that, during emptying operations, it can be easily extracted, allowing the retained particles to fall into the sump and be subsequently discharged, while also preventing water spillage from the defangator itself.
