PROPERTIES OF CHLORINE DIOXIDE: Chlorine Dioxide is NOT to be confused with Chlorine or Hypochlorite or common chlorine-based disinfection systems. Unlike the latter, in fact, it produces no odor, has excellent residual activity, and most importantly, it does not act by chlorination but by oxidation by penetrating the cell wall of bacteria and thus eliminating pathogenic organisms. It is much faster (tens of times) than traditional systems (e.g., chlorine, glutaraldehyde or quaternary salts). It is stable over a very wide pH range (up to pH 12). Because of these properties, it is intended for the treatment of Surface Water for human consumption. In fact, it is used on an industrial scale in groundwater treatments, in surface waters, in the removal of contaminants from the presence of Iron and Manganese, in the animal breeding industry, in hospital, ambulatory, school, and industrial facilities, representing an excellent disinfection and prevention garrison. WL-SANIFAST, destroys biofilms in tanks, piping, and all surfaces in contact with water by eliminating pathogens that form and reproduce giving rise to the spread of Legionella Pneumophila in hot water systems, and cooling towers. It eliminates sulfate-reducing bacteria and aerobic and anaerobic bacteria present in biological sludge (bioslime). The time required for disinfection varies depending on the types of bacteria present, usually from a few tens of minutes to several hours. Before using the water, verify that it has been sanitized with the 'ClO₂ analysis kit provided. The water will be ready to drink when there is the presence of 0.2 to 0.4 ppm of free Chlorine Dioxide.
